Laboratory of Genetics and Pathology is involved in production and use of genomic ressources in molluscs and their pathogens.
The Laboratory of Genetics and Pathology (LGP), with 30 permanent staff, are involved in research and survey activities. LGP develops since 20 years research activities in genetics improvment, performance assessment and health of species important for marine aquaculture, with a marked specificity for bivalve molluscs.
Within Aquagenet framework, the LGP is involved in following WP:
Use of NGS to produce genomic ressources in molluscs and their pathogens.
In silico analysis to identify genes and genome regions of interest by comparison with model species.
Species differenciation and genetic identification of populations (oysters).
In silico analysis to identify genes and genome regions of interest in studied pathogens.
Development of analytical tools based on NGS outputs to identify Bonamia species and OsHV-1 virus populations.
