Every year, Ifremer welcomes foreign researchers for short stays in the context of scientific cooperation.
Ifremer is an internationally renowned research institute that offers an integrated approach to marine science research. It encourages foreign researchers to come and collaborate with its teams in order to contribute to the excellence of its research.
Financial support is offered to foreign researchers (holding a PhD and an employment contract with a research organization) wishing to stay from 3 weeks to 3 months in an Ifremer research unit. This scholarship includes insurance and social protection on French territory, as well as an allowance to cover all or part of living expenses. Support can also be granted for the return plane or train ticket from the researcher’s residence to Ifremer.
How does it work?
Researchers wishing to carry out a scientific stay at Ifremer must contact the institute’s teams, who will then submit a formal request to the Scientific Department. Applications can be made at any time of the year, however it is requested to submit these at least 3 months prior to the planned arrival date of the visiting scientist.
