Luciana Raggi graduated in the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Biomedical Research in 2005. The last year of her studies she made an exchange year in the Laboratory of Dr. Curtis Suttle, in Vancouver, Canada, where she was introduced with the molecular and microbiology methods used for marine research.
She continued her studies in Bremen, Germany with a MSc in Marine Microbiology. Currently, she is a PhD student in the Symbiosis Group of the Max-Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology and under Dr. Nicole Dubilier supervision she investigates the diversity of bacterial associations in bivalves, particularly in Bathymodiolus sp. She will be graduating this August and in September she will be joining Dr. Elva Escobar laboratory for postdoctoral research.
