Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur Marine Competitivity Centre

Created in 2005, the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur Marine Competitivity Centre works in the areas of sustainable development and security, concentrating on five themes: maritime safety and security; naval and nautical; marine energy resources; marine living resources, environment and coastal planning.
The innovation effort of the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur Marine Competitivity Centre is organised along ten themes concerning technology issues and the associated markets: Open sea and close maritime protection, Prevention of environmental risks, Ships of the future, Deep offshore, Marine renewable energies, Sustainable aquaculture, Blue biotechnology, Water management in coastal areas, Ports of the future, and Services for the marine framework strategy directive.

Pôle Mer Bretagne

Created in 2005, the Pôle Mer Bretagne global economic competitiveness cluster conducts its activities on areas of sustainable development and security on five themes: Maritime safety and security; Shipbuilding and leisure boat building; Marine energy resources; Marine biological resources; Coastal environmental planning and management
Brittany has:
- 2700 km of coastline
- 100 000 jobs related to the sea
- 2900 researchers
- 3000 graduates per year in maritime-related training, of which a third come from continuing education.
