Monitoring

The Environment and Resources Laboratories (LER) develop and operate the environmental and resource monitoring networks Rocchi, REMI, REPHY, Remora, Repamo, Rebent, for the geographical areas under their responsibility. The laboratories work in collaboration according to the new demands of the WFD, and operate contracted regional networks in local areas deemed to be of higher priority.

These regional networks complement and reinforce the observation networks for the study of coastal ecosystem functioning, and for model building and validation.

The eight LER laboratories are engaged in quality assurance procedures for all existing networks to obtain Cofrac accreditation consistent with Ifremer's quality objectives.

The LER ensure the promotion and applied use of data collected by various databases and produce newsletters summarizing their results.
