The AG team

  • Touria Bajjouk

Following her professional experience in service provision firms, Touria BAJJOUK joined the DYNECO/AG service to head its Natura 2000 actions. She holds a PhD in biological oceanography and during her career, has developed expertise in the field of GIS, georeferenced databases and processing of high resolution spatial and spectral imagery (SPOT, Casi, Lidar).

  • Pierre Bodénès

A technician in computer graphics design, he creates illustrations for reports, publications, posters and brochures using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop software. He has also begun to use Arcview cartographic software and will contribute to the collating habitat maps and uploading them on to the server.

  • Chantal Croguennec

A GIS technician in charge of formating and managing georeferenced data used by the team, Chantal Croguennec is the point of contact within Ifremer for digital habitat maps. With a strong experience in the whole procedure of collating habitat and geomorphological she takes part in benthic habitat mapping, the REBENT website for interactive maps and in inputting data to the SISMER's Sextant database.

  • Marie-Odile Gall

Trained as a geographer, Marie-Odile spent several years dealing with oceanographic data bases at Ifremer. She’s in charge of metadata and assurance quality within the service, making sure all historic and recent habitat maps are uploaded to the interactive mapping system with metadata conforming to the ISO 19115 norm.

  • Elodie Giacomini

Elodie Giacomini has dual qualifications, with a Master's degree in marine environment management and a vocational Bachelor's degree in GIS. AS a support to DIREN Natura 2000 work, her role is to check map productions received from the various consultants hired by DIREN as to their good general mapping quality (geometry, consistency of their classification) and to ensure they are properly stored.

  • Ronan Loarer

His initial training as a geographer has stood him in good stead for his current work as a GIS specialist, specialized in coastal geomorphology. Ronan Loarer is the facilitator for Valor-IG (French for valorisation of geographic information applied to ICZM) action. In the ICZM framework, he provides expertise in various projects using GIS (Renewable energies at sea on behalf of the ADEME) and is a member of a number of working groups for the MEDAD ministry's Water and Nature & landscape information systems and the French CNIG geographic information council (reference frameworks).

  • Jacques Populus

Head of the team, Jacques Populus is an expert in GIS applications and remote sensing for coastal areas. After working for many years on projects related to aquaculture, more recently he has specialized in mapping of marine coastal habitats and their associated environmental parameters, both in terms of surveys, interpretation and modeling. Concurrently, he has acquired expertise in the field of topographic and bathymetric airborne Lidar. He runs Ifremer’s marine habitat mapping project and chairs ICES working group on habitat mapping (WGMHM)..

  • Jacqueline Quentel

The secretary of the service, she is in charge of inputting data to the DYNECO website, amongst other things.

  • Jean-Yves Quintin

Initially a biochemist-biologist Jean-Yves became an oceanographer specialized in the marine environment for monitoring and assessment. He is currently taking part, with all other participating teams, in the ecological monitoring of the Blayais nuclear power plant site in the Gironde estuary for EDF, in setting up the WFD in France and in OSPAR activities for the MEEDAT.
He is currently involved in coordinating marine environmental monitoring networks at IFREMER on behalf of the EDF French electricity board.

  • Claire Rollet

A bio-geomatics specialist, Claire Rollet is in charge of sector-based mapping in the intertidal zone for the REBENT (Bretagne) network. She contributes to optimizing and defining the methods implemented. She coordinates all of the field operations, processing, analyses and management of the data needed to create intertidal maps. She takes part in product quality control (for metadata, etc.). She also contributed to drafting the specifications for REBENT data in order to upgrade the Quadrige² database (a databank storage system for coastal environment monitoring data).

  • Mickaël Vasquez

An engineer specialized in GIS, Mickaël Vasquez provides assistance for major projects (REBENT, EuSeaMap) by deploying cartographic mapping of habitats and coastal activities on the geographic information system. He acts as the interface with the DYNECO/Vigies service to develop the Quadrige² information system: drafting specifications, validating creations and interfaces in the field of cartographic products. Finally, as the correspondent for « generic tools and data » with the IDM/SISMER (IT and marine data) service, he takes part in setting up the tools needed for the Sextant database, in developing special tools for a given theme, in achieving technological watches for generic tools and in assisting Ifremer GIS users.
