AUVs

Asterx and Idefx

Asterx and Idefx, the two Ifremer AUVs, are medium sized systems for coastal and deep water survey.

Missions

  • Bottom-following or water column survey for multiple scientific purposes
  • Multi payload survey, high instrumental modularity
  • Complementary vehicle on cruises with Rovs and manned submersibles.

Track record (dec. 2011)

  • 40 cruises
  • 308 dives
  • 7900km covered
  • Launched from 8 vessels of 27m to 100m long
  • Safe launch and recovery system with Caliste floating cage
